Since the summer of 1988, the Musée Laurier has been presenting
children's theatre. During the first few years, this activity, which
had very humble beginnings, was held in the backyard of the Laurier
house. Following some significant works, the Grange Fleury (Fleury
Barn), which neighbors the Maison- Wilfrid-Laurier (Laurier House),
opened its doors in July 1992, thus allowing children to enjoy some
theatre during the summer season.
THE LAURIER COUPLE AND CHILDREN
To their great disappointment, the Laurier couple never had any
children. However, history has revealed to us that the couple had
always maintained a harmonious relationship with both the children
of the family as well as those from the neighbourhood. The Laurier's
loved to be surrounded by children; as a matter of fact, sometimes
they would even contribute financially so as to come to the rescue
of sick or poor children. The Musée Laurier has remained
faithful to this tradition and still maintains, to this day, a very
special bond with children by allowing them to enjoy culture through
different activities and this, at very low costs.
